Basic Policy Against Anti-Social Forces
POLICY AGAINST ANTI-SOCIAL FORCES
In light of the spirit of the "Guidelines for Enterprises to Prevent Damage Caused by Anti-Social Forces" (agreed upon on June 19, 2007 by the Ministerial Council for Crime Countermeasures of the Government of Japan), the Company hereby establishes and publicly declares the following Basic Policy to sever all relationships with groups or individuals that pursue economic benefit through violence, force, and fraudulent means (hereinafter referred to as "anti-social forces" (反社会的勢力)).
1. Organizational Response
Rather than leaving responses to anti-social forces solely to individual staff members or departments, the Company responds as an entire organization led by its representative, and ensures the safety of officers and employees handling such matters.
2. Cooperation with External Specialized Institutions
In preparation for improper demands by anti-social forces, the Company cooperates with external specialized institutions such as the police and legal counsel as necessary. For matters within Japan, we also consult with relevant organizations such as the Centers for the Elimination of Boryokudan (暴力追放運動推進センター) through Japanese legal counsel and other professionals.
3. Complete Severance of All Relationships, Including Business Transactions
The Company maintains no relationship whatsoever, including business transactions, with anti-social forces. We conduct counterparty screening prior to commencing transactions and include clauses excluding anti-social forces in our contracts with business partners. If a counterparty is found to be an anti-social force, we will promptly terminate the relationship.
4. Civil and Criminal Legal Responses in Emergencies
The Company firmly rejects improper demands by anti-social forces and takes legal action from both civil and criminal perspectives.
5. Prohibition of Backroom Deals and Provision of Funds
Even if improper demands by anti-social forces are based on misconduct in business activities or misconduct by officers or employees, the Company will never engage in backroom deals to conceal the matter. Furthermore, the Company will never provide funds to anti-social forces.
