What Is EAC Certification?

"EAC certification" is the common name for the conformity assessment that confirms a product meets the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan). Products covered by a technical regulation may be placed on the Union market after the conformity assessment set out in that regulation. Under Article 53 of the EAEU Treaty, member states may not impose additional requirements or additional conformity assessment on products that comply with the technical regulations. Products that have passed conformity assessment bear the EAC mark (the single mark of circulation on the EAEU market).

Chestny ZNAK Product Marking

In Russia, goods designated by the government must carry an individual Data Matrix code on each unit. The system is called Chestny ZNAK (Честный знак). The product groups are listed in Government Order No. 792-r of April 28, 2018, and the start date for each group is set by a separate government resolution. For imported goods, obtaining and applying the codes is the importer's obligation. We obtain the codes and arrange for them to be applied at the warehouse in Japan before shipment or in Russia.

EAC Certification: Main Requirements

In the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), technical regulations apply by product type, and a declaration of conformity, a certificate of conformity or a state registration certificate is required before sale. Compliant products bear the EAC mark (Eurasian Conformity mark). The applicant must be an entity registered in the EAEU, such as an importer or a party authorized by the manufacturer. We obtain the documents as the applicant.
